Wow - were we busy!! Wayne didn't have to work on Good Friday, so we headed out first thing and made our way to Ohio. Isaac wasn't so good on the car ride, but we didn't expect anything else. He just really doesn't like the car. The kids were so excited to see Papa Sinks and had a great time visiting at his house. Laura and Eric didn't arrive until about 1 AM and we were fast asleep by then. But, I knew they had arrived because Rachel woke us up twice before 2 AM, so we closed the door. That little stinker keeps rolling over throughout the night and waking herself up.
Laura and I got up first thing Saturday morning and headed up to West Milton to prepare for the Open House for her, Eric and the girls. We got done setting up just in time to make it to Grandma Strawsers house by 11:00 AM. Unfortunately, Wayne and Eric had 5 kids to get ready between the two of them and they were about 30 minutes late. That was partially due to Wayne throwing out his back, which he's never done before. But, they did there best. We stayed at Grandma's until about 2 PM and then headed to the church for last minute set up and so we could all get changed. The Open House was a great success. Thanks so much to all the family and friends that came to meet Sarah and Rachel. It was so fun visiting with everyone! We left the church about 6 PM and we were all exhausted, especially Isaac. That poor kid barely got any naps that day. He just can't sleep in an unfamiliar environment. The Easter Bunny did manage to visit out house while we were gone, so the kids were happy to find their Easter Baskets when we got home yesterday.
Today is the last day of Spring Break for the kids. We met their teacher, Mrs. Ditty, and her son at DQ for lunch. Our DQ has a fantastic playland and it is even relatively clean...unlike the local McDonalds. They all played for an hour or two, while Mrs. Ditty and I talked. It was fun. They are excited to go back to school tomorrow. They didn't get much of a spring break, but they didn't care. They had a half day on Thursday and then Friday and today off.
Hope everyone had a great Easter. Here are pictures of the Open House:
The kids got these bunny ears in their baskets, along with their rainsets below. Our Easter bunny went more along the gift route and less along the candy route. We knew we'd have plenty of candy that other people would give the kids and we were right!!
