WOW - What a week!

Hello again everyone. I'm not home yet, but thought I'd write a quick update. Mom and I are at our hotel in Ft. Lauderdale right now. Our flight leaves tomorrow morning at 6 AM, so we're going to be heading to bed soon. We had a great trip, but I'm ready to see Wayne and the kids. I'm missing them so much!!!

Our week was full of excitement. Our ship made a new record. We had 2 helicopter evacuations during one cruise. The ship didn't have a heliport, so they had to have the US Coast Guard Helicopter drop a basket and stretcher and lift the doctor and patient up on board. It was crazy to watch. It happened on day 3 and day 7. Both were heart attacks. The first was a crew member and the second was a passenger. I wouldn't want to have to do that. It was scary to watch!!

We also had very choppy seas the first 3 days and the last day. We actually had our first port cancelled due to 12 foot waves. We were supposed to tender ashore and the tender boats couldn't do it due to the strong waves. So, we had an extra day at sea. We did get to visit Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We climbed Dunns River Falls in Jamaica. It was 600 feet tall. It was very empowering...We felt on top of the world!! In Grand Cayman, we visited Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville, rode on a pirate ship and swam in the ocean. Mom was a bit afraid of the ocean, but I convinced her to jump off that ship and she was glad she did. In Cozumel, we took a cab to the beach and rode a Kayak, Paddle Boat and just relaxed.

Our ship time was fun too! In addition to all the rescue excitement, we danced, sang, played games, enjoyed shows and at one point...my mother was pantless...yes, you heard that right...pantless...in a room FULL of people. It was during a game. She is a crazy lady!!!!!! We had fun and I enjoyed spending the week with her.

Wayne has had a busy week. Isaac has been sick for at least 5-6 of the days I was gone. He had a virus and was running a fever between 100 to 103. But, he is better now and they are anxious to have me back home. I'm anxious too.

I'll get pictures on later this week when I'm back home and settled in. BYE!
