Today was Isaac's 18 month check up. Everything went well he weighed 26 pounds 9 ounces and was 32.75 inches tall. Also, his head grew 1 cm, which made me happy since he's had trouble with his head circumference in the past. Both his height and weight put him in the 60th percentile, which was great!
I talked to the doctor about starting to add more dairy into Isaac's diet. He's been lactose intolerant since birth...even though it took us several months to learn that was the cause of his colicky behavior. She gave me the go ahead to start adding dairy and see how it goes. She basically said "It's not going to hurt him. If he can't handle it, he'll just have diarrhea and/or throw up." Very comforting. I really don't want to get to that point. He gets a slight amount of dairy now, but not much. We've learned that he can have an unlimited amount of Dairy Queen ice cream and he's fine. But, if we give him Edy's ice cream, he will have chunky burps after only 2-3 little bites. So, I don't know what DQ makes their ice cream out of, but it must be lactose free?!?! This will be our adventure now...learning the tolerance of Isaac's belly. Wish us luck!
Connor and Lindsey got their own clothes picked out for school today because Isaac was in the midst of breakfast and I can't leave him alone in the high chair or he'll try to escape! They did a great job and both looked very cute. Apparently they decided to have a sweater day. Here are pictures from this morning.
