None of my kids have been what you would call early talkers, so it is of no surprise to me that at almost 20 months Isaac only has a handful of words. At his 18 month check up, our doctor asked if I wanted to start him in early intervention speech therapy. I laughed! I told her that my other kids talked late and that if he wasn't talking by age 2, I'd get the ball rolling. By age 2, Lindsey was talking pretty good and Connor started soon after that in speech therapy.
Anyway, in just the past month he has finally gotten some words! It's so cute to hear him talking. Here is his list of words. There aren't many, but it's a start.
Mama
Dada
Dah-Der (Connor)
Boom Ba (Roomba) Funny, I know, but he LOVES the Roomba
More
My Mon (Monkey - his lovie)
Dah - Done
Daw - Down
I think that is it... In the car yesterday, I had a CD of kids church songs playing and every time a song would end, he would say "More." It was so cute.
I shot this video today. I tried to get him to say Connor, but he just wouldn't do it. But he did say some of his other words.
We are supposed to be getting 6-10 inches of snow today through tomorrow. It's really coming down outside and Wayne is on his way home from Peoria. He called about 5 minutes ago and is almost home. If this storm does what it is expected to do, then the kids will have a snow day tomorrow and Wayne will probably work from home...at least for the morning until the roads are cleared up a bit. We were going to take the kids to see the new house on Saturday, but that may have to wait depending on the weather.
Wayne stopped by the new house today while he was in town. He said the entire house is painted except for the boys rooms (because they are making modifications to both those rooms for us) and the master bedroom (because we just took them the paint to match today). Wayne thought the colors looked good. He didn't like Lindsey's room...he thinks it may be too bright, so we'll have to see about that. He took pictures for me so I could see how all the rooms turned out. It was really hard to pick paint colors for an entire house in less than 24 hours. I went safe...beige for most of it...I'm so tired of beige, though!
Isaac and I spent the morning at a friends house because we had our Realtor Open House. Kevin, our Realtor, said all the feedback on the house was very positive and everyone thought it showed well, so that's good. Now, bring on the showings and let's get it sold!!!
