Another ER Trip

This is just too much...Isaac pinched his finger last night and cut it badly, so we made our second trip to the ER with him in just 8 days. This time, Durabond would not do the job. He had to have stitches to repair the laceration. Poor little guy. They wanted to sedate him this time and I really had no idea what this entailed. First the resident and attending came in to inspect the wound. Then, they had someone come in to put numbing cream on a few IV sites so it could start numbing the skin while they sent him off for X-Ray's. When we got back, they started the IV. Then, they gave him the sedative and stitched his poor little finger. It all sounds so simple when I write it, but it took a little over 4 hours from the time he hurt himself until we left the hospital and Isaac screamed at the top of his lungs for probably 3 of those 4 hours. It was an experience that I hope to NEVER do again. My mom just keeps telling me that some kids are more accident prone, but really...we need a break from his "accidents." It's just one thing after another with him. I want to put him in a bubble and keep him safe!

Connor and Lindsey were thrilled as they got to spend the night at Mary's house with Megan and Emma. I'm glad they were well behaved and so thankful that Mary was there, once again, to help us out.

Isaac has done really good with his finger today. It's all wrapped up, so he can't really use it much, but he's getting around just fine. His biggest obstacle is that it's one of the two fingers he sucks on when he goes to sleep. So, I'm trying to help him figure out another way to sooth himself to sleep. We'll get something worked out as the stitches aren't coming out for 10 days.

On a positive note - we got an offer on our house today, so hopefully we'll work out an agreement and have our house pending soon.

Michelle,
You are so blessed to have children who can go with the flow as Connor and Lindsey did yesterday. Meg and Em would have been basket cases, but your kids did exactly what we asked and went to sleep with no problem last night. You guys have done a great job!
