The last few days have certainly been busy! Wednesday was Isaac's birthday. We didn't do much to celebrate because we are having his birthday party on the 21st this year because it was the best date for most of our family. Mary gave Isaac a Bob the Builder beach towel and we gave him some slippers. He'll have to wait until his party to get the rest of his presents. He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES this beach towel. He rolls on it, hugs it, kisses it, shows it to everyone and anyone who will look. It's too cute!
On Thursday, I took Connor and Lindsey to their dental cleanings. It was our first visit with our new dentist and I was anxious to get a second opinion about Connor's teeth. They are majorly crowded now that his permanent teeth are here on bottom. He agreed with our last dentist and orthodontist...Connor needs a palate spreader. He goes to see the orthodontist here on July 3. I really don't look forward to this process because I've heard they are so painful. But, he truly does need it.
Today was Isaac's two year check up. Check ups are so much easier now that he's done with shots. He weighs 30 pounds and was 34.5 inches tall. So, he's doing great! He's met all his milestones he should be at for his age except the dreaded speech delay. I knew this was coming at this appointment. Our last doctor wanted to start him in speech therapy at 18 months and I declined because I thought it was too young. However, he's not saying much still. So, today I agreed to a speech evaluation. They will be contacting us next week to set up a screening. We went through all of this with Connor too. He had speech from age 2-3 and then tested out of it. I'm sure Isaac will do the same. What can I say? My boys are just slow to talk!! I'm not worried about it...he'll talk eventually and then I'll wonder why I wanted this??? :)
