Totally 2

In the past few days, Isaac has totally become terribly 2. I hoped we were having a bad day or two, but we're on day 4 now and I could really loose my mind. He is screaming, crying and tantruming constantly! For example, this morning he got up, went potty, started screaming about something in his underwear drawer. I couldn't tell what his problem was because of how he was yelling about it, so after 10 minutes of not being able to figure it out I put him in bed for a time out and left the room to get Connor and Lindsey finished up and off to the bus stop.

He finally came downstairs, only to then start screaming about his breakfast. He eats the same breakfast almost every, which is what he wants. I'd rather he have more variety, but whatever. Again, I have no clue what he's upset about because he's screaming at me and I can't understand. So, after a time out and him continuing to scream for an additonal 20 minutes, I made sure the chain locks were on all exterior doors so he couldn't escape and headed up for a shower. He was finally done screaming when I got out a few minutes later, but that didn't last long. I still had to get him dressed and although he picked his own clothes, he later got angry about the shirt and wanted to refuse to wear it. I had the matching pants and socks already out and we were in crunch time, so I made him put it on anyway...another massive fit.

He actually rode to school nicely with no fits...thank goodness. He also made it home from school with no fits. His teachers said he had a great day at school with no problems. We weren't in the house for 2 minutes and he started throwing a tantrum because I unzipped his coat. Oh, the horror. He laid on the floor for 5 minutes screaming "I do it myself". I kept encouraging him to go ahead and finish taking his own coat off, but he didn't budge. He just laid face down on the floor screaming. So, I took his coat off and took him up to bed. Luckily he ate a sandwich in the car because he didn't eat anything else. He ALWAYS goes potty before his nap because he wears undies to bed at naptime. Well, today that made him mad too and he screamed "No go potty" for 15 minutes in the bathroom. It had been almost 2 hours since he'd been to the potty, so I'm sure he needed to go and just wanted to have a power struggle with me.

Finally, I'd had enough!! I took him to his room, threw a pull up on his and put him to bed. Then, I went to my bathroom and took an Ativan. After 4 days of his constant fit throwing, my nerves are shot and I'm on the verge of tears. That's with him spending all morning at school too....

How can a little boy be so totally adorable, sweet and loving and be so horrific all at the same time!!??!!?? Calgon....take me away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am right there with you. Hopefully with playgroup tomorrow the change of pace will snap these boys out of their nasty attitudes!

Michelle,
Call your brother. Isaac sounds just like him so I am guessing he is to blame. He spent a lot of time alone because of those tantrums.
