Poor Connor

Yesterday afternoon I took Connor for his orthodontic follow up appointment. This is the third time he's gone. He has severe overcrowding issues in his mouth and they have been watching for the right time to insert a palate expander. Well, now is finally the time. They took the molds yesterday and he will get his appliance put on Monday morning. He's nervous, I'm nervous...we're all nervous because we've heard it can be quite painful at first. They said he will probably have to wear it for 6-8 months (2 months more than most people) because his case is pretty extreme. Then he will have a retainer for about 2 years and then braces and then retainers again. At some point, he will need 2 more teeth pulled as well, but I can't remember if that was directly after the spreader for before the braces. Poor guy...such a mess in his mouth!

I took the kids to the library this morning and got all 3 of them signed up for the summer reading program. I didn't realize Isaac would be able to participate this year until I got there and saw that it was ages 3 and up. Yeah...he'll love all the prizes.

We're heading outside to play "blue scrambler" this afternoon. It would be nice if the weather would cooperate and we could actually go to the pool sometime this week, but that's not happening so far. Oh well, I have to figure out the logistics of that anyway. I was informed upon getting our passes yesterday that no flotation devices are allowed at the pool this year...NO WATER WINGS!!!! That will royally suck for Isaac. I asked if they were absolutely not allowing any or if there was a specific kind allowed and was told "coast guard approved" devices only, so I'm off to do a search for something he can use. He is way too independent to want me carrying him around in the big pool and he won't want to spend all his time in the kid pool either. I'm pretty annoyed about this new rule!!
