I'm back home and think I'm FINALLY caught up on things here. It takes so long to get things back in order. Wayne did an awesome job with things around the house while I was away. I came home home to a lovely bouquet of flowers and a clean house...thanks Wayne. I also owe a HUGE thank you to my friends who helped with the kids while I was away. Without your help, I could have never been in Ohio the past week and a half and after going and coming back and I honestly say I absolutely needed to be there.
An update on my Mom for those who are interested: She is doing as well as to be expected. When I left on Friday, her incision on her head was starting to heal. The skin was even growing back together in places!! The bowel obstruction that landed her back in the hospital is completely cleared now too. Yeah! She just needs to remember not to overdo it....DO YOU HEAR ME MOM?!?! Her neurosurgeon told her this type of surgery makes you extremely tired and week, so it will be a month or two before she is back to her normal energy level. She called the doctors office on Friday and was told that her pathology report was back, but the doctor was gone for the weekend. The nurse couldn't legally give her the report but told her something to the effect of not to worry, she didn't see anything to worry about, and to enjoy her weekend. So, we are hoping to get the official report back today and are very optimistic that it will be good news.
I added tons of pictures below. First is from Connor and Lindsey's birthday celebration.
Connor had his first JFL game on Saturday. He was pretty bummed out that due to his late birthday he has to play flag again this year when all the other boys in his grade get to play tackle. However, he still had a great time. Wayne is his head coach this year and he tells him all the time "Dad, you are a great coach." So sweet!! Isaac had a huge meltdown the first half of the game, so I didn't get to watch much, but I did see him pull a flag at the beginning of the second half...GO CONNOR!!
On Saturday night, our church had a Men and Boys Camp Out at the church. Connor says he had the best time ever...one of the best days of his life. He is just to cute lately! They got to roast hot dogs and smores and then had eggs, sausage patties and toast on the camp fire the next morning. They even went fishing. I'm glad I was able to get home in time for them to go. Thanks Hammelmans for letting us borrow your tent!!
Lindsey is starting Piano lessons this Friday. We were graciously offered a piano by our neighbors parents, but after further thinking, we decided we didn't want a real piano. I know...we're weird. We move so frequently that we thought a digital piano would suit us better. It is lightweight (about 100 lbs) and really functions pretty similar to an acoustic piano. I got a GREAT deal on one at Guitar World (thanks Nicole for that tip) and picked it up yesterday. Lindsey was very eager to get it put together so she could sit down a pound some notes. She can barely wait for Friday to come for her first lesson.
While Lindsey and I were out getting her piano, we hit the mall to exchange a pair of pants I bought her at Gap. She still had some birthday money she wanted to spend. I had taken them to TRU on Saturday where Connor got 2 DS games, Guitar Hero and Pokemon Platnum. Lindsey got a Wii Game, Disney Sing It, but wanted to save the rest for the mall. Anyway, she knew exactly what she wanted...a watch from Gap and a necklace with a charm. She got them both. This morning, she asked to wear them to school. I told her "be careful, this necklace is real gold and cost you a lot of money." It was almost $60. She was stunned! She thought it was fake...LOL! Her reply "Really, I thought if it was real it would have cost more." Too cute. She has great taste, though. Her necklace is gorgeous!!
Lastly, a picture of the plant my mom and dad sent me to say Thanks. It wasn't necessary!!! But, it was sweet of them. My parents wanted to me pass along a thank you from them to everyone who made it possible for me to be in Ohio. They are very, very appreciative. So, thanks from my parents!!

Thanks to all Michelle and Wayne's friends for allowing Michelle the freedom to come home. We could never have managed without her help. We really appreciate it. It is nice to see pictures of the kids and we look forward to seeing both a football game and piano recital very soon.
Michelle you'd better put that mum in the ground somewhere and NOT let it die!!
Mary - That reminds me. You should see these mums my mom has. She got them from Walmart last year for like $2. They are HUGE!!! Bigger than most shrubs. I meant to get a picture to show you and forgot.
