Today starts our final week of summer vacation. I have to admit it has flown by so quickly!! Our summer hasn't been busy, but the days have gone by fast. I just hate going back to the rat race during the school year! Connor started football practice today and Wayne is the coach. So, he was home from work all of 20 minutes before he headed back out the door. At least he had time to eat a quick dinner. On the way out he said "sorry to eat and run." I told him that was okay...this is our life for the next 9 months or so. Connor will have football twice a week and then he will start basketball before going into spring soccer and then baseball. Lindsey will have Gymnastics one night a week and then we are still looking into Piano for her too. Not 100% sure on that yet. I'm waiting to get info on a teacher from another mom.
I took the kids to the school today to see their class lists. They were both pretty bummed. Lindsey didn't know many of the girls in her class and there are a few she knows who she said are just not nice girls, so that is too bad. Connor was pretty much in the same boat with the boys in his class. I reassured them that they will make lots of new friends this year and there is always recess time to catch up with other friends who aren't in their classes. I'm sure they will both have an excellent year.
I'll tell you one thing I'm looking forward to....an end to Isaac's nap time fits! It's been getting worse throughout the summer and I've about had it! He still thinks he is an equal to his older brother and sister and since they don't nap he doesn't think he should have to either. It hasn't worked to his benefit even one time this summer, but he cries everyday about wanting to "stay up with Sissy and Connor." Lately he's even throwing in "but I been good boy." I told him even good boys who are 3 still need naps. He'll be starting preschool in just a few weeks, so it will do him good to be around more kids his own age again.
