In Ohio...

So, the phone call came early yesterday morning. My grandfather, James Charlton, passed away early in the morning yesterday. It's for the best, as he was suffering and in pain, but we still feel sad. Wayne and I decided rather quickly that I would go and take Isaac and he would stay behind with Connor and Lindsey. They have so many fun activities going on these last few weeks of school that they have really been looking forward to doing. I didn't feel like it was fair to them to pull them out of school to come to Ohio for the funeral. I spent yesterday morning searching out airfares and times, but after 3 hours decided to get in the car and start driving. I did okay finding a flight yesterday, but I couldn't find a return flight for next week. They all left Cleveland at like 6 AM. There was no way to get up and get Isaac up there that early. We would have been getting up at like 3 AM. I was extremely nervous to drive 8 hours with Isaac, who has been known for his dislike of the car. But, I'll tell you...I had an angel on my shoulder. He was awesome and the drive couldn't have been any better. There we many times that traffic on the opposite side of the highway was stopped or at a crawl and our side just kept going. I even traveled through Columbus at 5 PM (rush hour) and barely slowed down for just a few miles. I got very lucky!! The funeral is early next week, so Isaac and I are going to hang out with the family for a few days and then head back home.
