Rough Start

We made it to Ohio today, but man...it was a rough start. Wayne headed off to work for a half day today and my job was to pack up the last minute items, get the kids baths and be ready to go when he got home. Everything was going great until I headed down to the deep freezer...

Let me back up before I get into details of when things went wrong...

Isaac is still breastfeeding even though he's past his first birthday. I was hoping to nurse him longer (another 5-6 months) hoping he will grow out of his lactose intolerance. He's gotten better and better throughout this year, but still has problems. I worked HARD to pump and freeze plenty of milk for him to get him through the week while we are away. I had frozen 51 - 6 ounce bottles of breast milk for him. Sometime in the past few days, we blew the circuit in the basement that the deep freezer is on. 36 of his 51 bottles had thawed out and are no longer any good. Talk about heartbroken. I was seriously crushed.

At least I have some breast milk for him this week, but only 1-2 bottles a day. I was hoping he would be drinking mostly breast milk for the week with only 1 bottle a day of lactaid milk. We'll just have to change things around.

Anyway - what's done is done and I'm looking forward to our trip.
