Our cruise was AWESOME, beyond my expectations, and I can't wait to write more about it. But, I want to wait until we have pictures to share. However, right now we have no luggage, no camera, no nothing and I'm lucky to have made it to Ohio.
We flew from San Juan to Chicago O'Hare yesterday morning without any problems. We had a 3 hour layover before our flight to Cleveland. We had noticed that several American Airlines flights going into Ohio airports were getting cancelled. About an hour before our flight was to leave, it got cancelled too. So, we went to customer service and after much debate and haggling they were able to get one of us on a United flight to Akron Canton, Ohio. So, we decided that I would take that flight, pick up the kids at my parents and drive them home. Wayne would rent a car and drive home to our house and Illinois. Well, about 2 hours later a huge storm blew through Chicago and then my Akron Canton flight got cancelled. Things just spiralled out of control from there. About 90 percent of the flights leaving O'Hare were either cancelled or significantly delayed. I was lucky to get a seat on a 6:30 flight with United heading to Cleveland. Of course, it didn't end up leaving until almost 11:00. So, I spent almost 12 hours at O'Hare.
Unfortunately, my luggage didn't make it here with me. I got to my parents at 3:30 AM and was up with the kids at 6:30 AM. I was tired, but so anxious to see them. I've spent much of the day trying to track down our luggage, but have had NO luck at all. So, I told them to have it delivered to our house in IL (when they finally find it) and tomorrow the kids and I are heading home. I'm dreading the 8 hour drive by myself, but we'll be okay. Right now, I'm just really hoping that our luggage is found soon.
So, hopefully my next blog will be from home and I'll have better news regarding our luggage. I can't wait to share more about our trip. It was incredibly wonderful!!!!!
