Isaac continued to run a high fever throughout the night and into the morning, so I called the doctor when they opened this morning. She wanted to see him to check his ears since he's had a runny nose for the past few weeks. His ears were clear, so he probably has some sort of a viral infection. I'm supposed to call her on Friday with an update and if he's still running this 101.5-102 fever, she's going to do a more extensive work up.
Whatever illness he has...it's taking a toll on his body. His fever has been very stubborn. I've never had an incident where my kids fever didn't respond to Motrin. Twice now I've given him Motrin and after an hour retaken his temperature and it's been higher. Right now, I'm alternating Tylenol and Motrin to keep his temperature under control. I was able to get it down to 99.5 one time earlier today. He's been very tired and is on his 3rd nap of the day. I'm not complaining as he's been extremely grumpy when he's awake. He can only be up about 1.5 hours at a time and then he's back down for about 1.5 hours. Poor boy!
I'm starting a new policy today. The kids have got to start washing their hands the minute they get home BEFORE they greet Isaac. I told mom that I might just greet them at the door with a bottle of hand sanitizer. Then we joked about putting a decontamination booth at the front door or just spraying them head to toe with Lysol. Seriously, though...Isaac was sick constantly last school year and he hasn't been sick all summer long. Connor and Lindsey just started school a week and a half ago and Isaac is already sick again. I don't want to have him sick all the time again.
Here are the pictures from the kids soccer game last week. Lindsey is number 9 and Connor is number 18. Want to know why he choose number 18? Because Peyton Manning's number (in football) is 18. He couldn't be any other number. He makes his mommy proud. :) The first picture is of their coach AKA daddy.
I took this picture last week and just never got it on the blog. Isaac will only eat breakfast at the big table with the kids. I had to get out the booster for him after I took this picture. He wants to be wherever they are sitting!
