Isaac seems to know when I'm at my breaking point because he throws in a really good day. That's what we had today. It wasn't perfect, but I'm not asking for perfection. I just want days that don't consist of him screaming, crying, hitting, biting or head butting all day.
The morning started off okay. But as soon as the kids left for school, I turned to Isaac and said "let's go downstairs to play." He immediately threw himself down on the floor, slammed his head into the ceramic tile (on purpose...he does this) and screamed. So, I started thinking that maybe he doesn't like playing down in the basement. It's very nicely finished, but whatever. We were down in the basement most of the day yesterday and he kept trying to get upstairs all day and was in a horrible mood. Fortunately for Isaac, we still haven't gotten around to redoing the dining room floor and buying furniture, so it's just sitting empty. So, I lugged all his toys up to the dining room which is now going to be Isaac's toy room. He seemed so much happier in there. So, who would have thought that yesterday's miserable day was due to the basement??????
I'm just glad he had a better day. period. I needed it!!
Last night, Wayne and I had a "date night." It consisted of getting the kids to bed by 7:30, watching the Colts on Monday Night Football and 2 bowls of yummy ice cream. It was great.
Tomorrow, I'm going out to brunch and Naomi is coming to keep an eye on Isaac for me. He adores her and she loves him, so they always seem to have fun. Lucky for me, that he always seems to behave very nicely when she is here with him. Usually, I try to leave him with her during his nap time, but tomorrow he'll be awake. Hopefully he'll be a good boy.
Here are some pictures I took last night. Isaac was being so cute and curious as Wayne installed one more cabinet lock for me on the kitchen desk area. Isaac was less than thrilled about that same cabinet lock on more than one occasion today. I also took some pictures of some tricks he and Wayne were working on and some of the kids doing homework.
