It was very nice and relaxing to have a sea day at the end of the cruise. We were getting tired and hoped to have a day to sleep in late. That didn't happen, though. The Captain made an early morning announcement telling us that for the second time this week, we were going to have a helicopter evacuation. This time things went much more smoothly. We were going full speed ahead towards Tampa, FL and the Coast Guard Helicopter was on the way. Mom and I got up quick so we could watch. We had a much better view this time since we knew where to watch from due to the evacuation on day 3. We aren't sure who was sick or what was wrong, but we heard rumblings that it was an older gentleman who suffered a heart attack. We were told later that day that he was in the hospital in Tampa in stable condition, so that is good.
After the evacuation was over and the pool deck opened up, we reserved some pool chairs and headed to breakfast. Then, we headed up to the pool deck for the afternoon. We left in the late afternoon to attend a question and answer session with the top brass on our ship. It was very interesting. We learned that our particular ship spent 12 million dollars on fuel last year, It cost over $6000 just in fuel for our evacuation that morning and we learned that our captain has a great sense of humor. That guy was hysterical! We laughed so hard.
After the Q&A, We headed back up to the pool for a little bit before leaving to get ready for dinner and the farewell show. After the show, we headed to our stateroom to pack and set out our baggage.
