Christmas Eve...At Home!

We're back from Ohio and it's Christmas Eve. It feels great to be home. We had a short 2 day trip and it was busy, busy, busy. But, loads of fun! Here is a recap of the past 2 days...

We drove to Ohio first thing on Saturday morning. The trip in was good. Isaac didn't nap at all, so he was ready to sleep when we got to Papa Sinks house. It was a little crazy and I'm embarrassed to say that my kids were not exactly on their best behavior. I think they were just excited to be visiting Papa and excited about Christmas. We did our Sinks family Christmas on Saturday evening. After we got the kids to bed, the adults stayed up and played cards for a few hours. It was fun. Here are some pictures from Saturday:

Sunday was an awesome day! We got up, ate breakfast and got ready to hop back in the car. Leland and Madonna watched Isaac for the day while Wayne and I took Connor and Lindsey to our first Indianapolis Colts game. We had the best time. Connor was in awe of the entire event from start to finish. I have to admit, I found myself a little teary eyed during the National Anthem. Of course, Wayne laughed at me, but It wasn't like I was bawling. I was just so happy to get to go to a Colts game and I was looking at Connor and watching the joy on his face. It was a moment to cherish. Lindsey started getting bored before halftime, but she hung in there with the rest of us. The game was great. The colts blew away the Texans and we made some memories. Here are some pictures. There are tons of them, but they were all great! Connor is a boy of a million faces during the games. He is excited, happy, nervous, worried...so cute. The people were laughing at him as he did his celebratory "raise the roof" each time we scored. He was hysterical!

I LOVE this last picture of the kids at the end of the game. It was so cute!

Isaac was happy to see us when we got back to Papa Sinks house. They assured us that he was a really good boy all day, so I hope that is true!

Today, we got up, ate breakfast and started packing up the car. We headed up to Grandma June's for the Strawser Christmas. We got to visit with everyone up there and had a great lunch. It was nice to catch up with everyone. No pictures this time as we forgot to bring in the camera...oops!

The drive home this afternoon/evening was as miserable as they come. Isaac was less than thrilled to be in the car and was extremely fussy most of the way home. We left Ohio about one hour past his afternoon nap time, so we thought he would sleep in the car. No such luck. He was awake the entire 5 hour ride back home. I'm not sure why, but none of my kids sleep in the car. Connor and Lindsey slept a little bit at his age...maybe like 20 minutes...but Isaac didn't sleep at all. He was miserably tired by the end of the trip. We came home, gave him a bath and put him to bed for the night at 6:30. We checked on him about 15 minutes later and he was sound asleep on his back with his lovie on his head and snoring. So cute!

The kids put out their cookies for Santa before bed. They are very excited about Christmas morning.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!
Time to go play Santa...
