2008 is the year of Disney. We've been talking to Connor and Lindsey about going to Disney for about 2 years now. Believe it or not, they have never wanted to go...until now! Lindsey has had a fear of people dressed in costumes and finally thinks she is able to go to Disney World without being scared of the characters. So, we told them that we would go this coming year.
We initially planned to go in the fall just after school starts because we thought it might not be very crowded. But, we've been told that it is terribly hot and humid that time of year. Wayne and I aren't really fans of hot and humid and Connor doesn't fare well in that weather, so we decided we needed to go at a different time. Neither of us want to go during the summer when school is out or during any school holidays. So, that leaves us with the spring. We hope to go in late April or early May.
I've been gathering information the past day or two and there is so much to chose when planning a trip. I've only been once when I was 12 and Wayne has never been. So, if anyone has advice...we're all ears!!!
Also - a rant for today. This was of the kids math problems today at school:
First double me.
Then subtract 4.
You will get 8.
What number am I? ____
Okay. Any problem that causes me to actually think seems a little too hard for first grade. Both kids got it wrong. Really, it's easy when I think about it...but a 6 year old?

I am with you. Now that Megan is off the straight computation problems and on to the word problems, she's getting C's on her math. I think this is ridiculous. Half her class can't even read the problem. CRAZY!! At least her teacher lets her correct it and turn it back in.
This is the second time they have had problems like that on their papers...for a grade! They do correct them at school, but their grade stays the same. Wayne taught them how to do these the other night by working backwards, but with this one they would have to divide at the end. HELLO??!! They are 6!
