Connor and Lindsey's class wanted to have a going away party for them next week. The teacher and I have been working out the details and I told her I'd bring cake and ice cream. The kids wanted to put together treat bags to hand out too. Tonight, I thought I'd take them to Walmart to get candy and other stuff for the treat bags. Isaac was SO fussy the entire time. For some reason, when Connor and Lindsey are with us at a store he doesn't want to sit in a cart. It's like he thinks he should walk since they do?? He so thinks he is 6, not 1. Ugh! I never have a problem with him riding in a cart when we are alone.
Needless to say, it was a very short, stressful trip to walmart. We did manage to order cupcakes and pick up treat bag stuff and ice cream, so at least it was productive. The kids wanted to include a picture of themselves in their bags, so tomorrow I need to go to Walgreens and pick those up. I ordered them off snapfish and had our local Walgreen print them...so convenient! They want to write a note on the back of the picture for each kid in their class. They are very sentimental children...so sweet. As a surprise to Connor and Lindsey, I made a self addressed & stamped envelope for each kid in their class and included a note asking them to please write the kids a letter or color them a picture and mail it to them. I know it would make their day to get notes from their friends after we move. Some of their NC friends did that when we moved here and it really put a smile on their face to know that their friends missed them too. Hopefully we'll get a good response.
Tomorrow night, some of my friends here in Mt. Zion are having a going away dinner for me. I'll be happy to have a sitter and a quiet dinner out with my girlfriends. Thanks to my neighbor, Naomi, for keeping the kids for the evening!!! We're really going to miss her when we move.
