Our Doctor Visit Today

Isaac had a doctor visit today. He needed to go for 2 reasons.

1 - A few weeks ago, Isaac fell on the kitchen tile and tore that little, thin piece of tissue between your top lip and gums. It was just a slit and the doctor said they don't do anything with that type of a tear. It can't be repaired and won't ever reattach. No big deal. No one ever sees it anyway. Well, in the past week, he's fallen two more times...on the kitchen floor...and hurt that same part of his mouth. After his fall last night, we noticed he now had somewhere between a quarter and half an inch tear across the inside of his mouth. Much worse than the initial injury a few weeks ago. The doctor gave me 2 options for treatment. Option one was to go ahead and put stitches in now because of the size of the tear. Option two was to wait it out and hope he doesn't continue to injure it and let it heal up on its own. I obviously chose the later of those two options. I really don't want to have to deal with stitches in my one year old. I realize kids fall down, but I don't know how he continues to hit this exact same spot on his face each time. Poor baby! I'm hoping he can go several weeks without falling again. His poor mouth bleeds and bleeds every time...

2 - Isaac's skin is being taken over by Eczema. I was pretty sure it was Eczema, but I've been trying different lotions and creams over the past 3 weeks and it's just continued to get worse and worse. It started with a few spots on the top of his chest. Now his entire chest and belly are covered, as well as behind one knee and inside both elbows. So, we're trying hydrocortisone cream now 2-3 times a day and cream/lotion an additional 4 times a day. That is a lot of cream!! I just wish I knew what caused this sudden breakout. He had one spot of Eczema on his leg like a year ago and it went away after putting cream on it for a few days. Now, he's broken out terrible! It's odd.

Nothing else really happened today. Wayne headed back up to work for the week. He went to the new house this evening and they were starting the carpet. The appliances were delivered today and Connor's bedroom has been painted. Also, the basement vanity was installed. Things are really just about done! The builder hired a cleaning service to clean Friday-Monday, so I assume the house will by done by then...all but the concrete. Darn weather!

Sounds like Ryan. He had one tiny spot on his back and then within a few weeks, his whole body has been overtaken. He clears up for a few days and starts all over again. It's so annoying!
