O Christmas Tree

My tree just fell over. I heard a terrible cracking sound and down it went. We knew it wasn't quite right as it's been leaning and we couldn't fix it. This was it's last year, anyway, it just had to last another week or two. So, the bottom support cracked in half and it's DONE! I've had such a bad day with our windows, patio door issues and nonworking furnace (explanation coming) that my eyes just filled up with tears. I heard Connor say "Ut Oh", Lindsey say "It's okay Mom" and Isaac say "Mommy Happy, Mommy Happy." So, we just finished taking all the ornaments off the tree and I threw it in the garage for Wayne to deal with when he gets home. Connor is totally concerned with whether or not we'll have a new tree for Christmas, of course. I called Wayne and he said I should go out right after he gets home and find us a new tree.

On to my almost $400K pile of pooh that I live in...So, you all know that we had new windows put in. They have air coming in, so a guy came today to fix it. Hopefully problem solved. We've had the heating and cooling company here twice already this week to work on our furnace. It keeps overheating and shutting off. They cleaned the coils first and that worked for a few days. It was 56 degrees in the house yesterday morning, so they came out again and said we needed a new blower. They are coming back today to install that. So, for now, we have to manually turn on the furnace every 30 minutes or so to keep it warm in the house. Our patio doors have so much air coming in that they are frosting all over. We have a tremendous amount of air coming in both of them, so Wayne covered them in plastic last night which helped a lot. So, today he talked to the builder and they are going to put in 2 new patio doors. We've discussed this with him several times and we've tried several methods of getting them fixed, but nothing is really helping. Today, they are going to duct tape my patio doors just like they had done to my windows. An almost $400K house being held together with duct tape. Seriously??!!??!! So, you'd expect all this in a new house right? Well, that along with all the other troubles we've had. Can you tell I'm having a day????? Thank God our builder has been so easy to work with. We've heard so many horror stories from people whose builders essentially wash their hands of them after they move in. Our builder has fixed everything that has gone wrong without question. He's kept true to his word on everything. I think he just must have had some bad crews working on our place.

I'll stop venting now!!! Tomorrow the kids and I are looking forward to a very fun day. We're heading to Laura's house in the morning. Laura's neighbor has kids (boy/girl) about the same age as Connor and Lindsey and they all play together so nicely. They met over Thanksgiving weekend at the parties over there. They are having a playday and during Isaac's naptime, I'm taking the 4 of them to paint pottery. They are really looking forward to it and so am I.
