Sick Connor

Our weekend went great and my garage sale was successful! I made between $400-$500, so I was happy. Almost all my stuff sold...yeah!

Yesterday, we got up and headed to church and then went to Home Depot to buy a new patio table and chairs. Wayne had given me the go ahead to get new patio furniture if I sold the old set...which I did! We got home and started lunch when Connor declared that he didn't want to eat because his skin felt weird. He had goose bumps all down his arms and legs, so I felt him and he felt warm. His temp was rapidly rising and went from 99.9 to 102.2 in under 30 minutes. He took some Motrin, but after 2 hours on it he still had a pretty good fever. Since he was also complaining of a sore throat, I decided to take him over to prompt care. I figured it was strep since it is the only thing that comes on so quickly. The nurse practitioner said it was either strep or a tonsil infection and since the treatment is the same for both, she'd spare him the throat swab, which I appreciated. So, he's on antibiotics now. He is still running a fever today, so he'll be home again on Tuesday. Hopefully he'll be able to return to school on Wednesday, but we'll just have to wait and see...

Wayne and I did manage to get a new flower bed dug yesterday. We're slowly going to work on the back yard landscaping. I suggested we just do it a section at a time so it isn't so overwhelming. Mary gave me 5 starts for Hosta, so I got them planted. Yeah!! Thanks Mary!
