It's Official

Lindsey had her consultation at the orthodontist today. She is definitely getting an expander. Her appointment was slightly traumatic. They needed to take an impression of her mouth. Connor had this done too and had gagged, so I knew what we were dealing with. Lindsey has a terrible gag reflex. I told the assistant in private that is was very likely that Lindsey would vomit. They moved her out of the consultation room because it has a carpet floor and put her in the procedure room with the tile floor. Good thing...about 30 seconds in she started getting sick and then clamped her jaw down...on the assistants finger. She bit her really bad and was super embarrassed about it. They told her they understood that it was just a natural reflex and assured her that it wasn't the first time it had happened. Unfortunately, her mold didn't take and we had to do the entire thing again. Lindsey was a real trooper. She vomited again during the second impression, but not very much. So, they think the second mold will work fine. I hope so!! She is getting her expander put on next Monday. Connor thought it was totally unfair that Lindsey threw up and bit the assistant and then they gave her extra tokens, prizes and a $5 DQ gift card to make her feel better. He said "I didn't get all that stuff....I guess you have to bite them to get that."

After the appointment, I got Lindsey cleaned up and headed to Target to get PE shoes for school and a few new outdoor toys that were on sale. We went swimming after naps and Wayne picked up pizza for dinner. It was his first day back to work after 3 weeks at home, so we were missing him today! He spent the entire evening playing with the kids, so I think he was missing them too.
