Snow Day, Snow Day, Snow Day

The kids have been out of school due to the weather for the past 2 days and will be out of school again tomorrow. We had several inches of snow hit early Wednesday morning and then today and tomorrow they closed due to extremely low temperatures. This morning, when I got up, the temperature was way below zero and the wind chill was like -37. Tomorrow is supposed to be much the same. I offered to keep a friends daughter today because she and her husband both work. So, Lindsey was thrilled to have Allyson here today. I let Connor invite his friend Nolan here this afternoon too.

Isaac took a terrible nap, so much of the afternoon was spent with the girls trying to lock him out of every room in the house while he screamed at the top of his lungs "Let me in!" over and over and over. After about an hour of that, I told the girls they were going to have to just incorporate him into whatever they wanted to play because I couldn't stand it any longer. I tried getting him to play with me, but he just wanted his sister and Allyson.

Our furnace has stopped working properly again, which is totally frustrating Wayne and I. It's doing the exact same thing as last month. It was 57 in the house when I woke up and it took me most of the day to get it up to 66. (I have to manually reset and restart it every 15-30 minutes) So, the furnace guy came and replaced the thermostat and declared it fixed. Well, about 20 minutes after he left it shut off again and still wasn't at temperature. In the past 3 hours, I've had to restart it 4 times. So, he is supposed to be coming back tonight and already told Wayne he has no idea what is wrong with it...GREAT!!!!! Gotta love this new house.

The furnace guy tried to make me feel better tell me that a new house is like a new car and you just have to work out the kinks. So, I asked him at what point a house is declared a lemon and you get a new one. I thought it was a pretty clever comeback on my part. He didn't say anything more after that. Oh well, I got a laugh out of it.

Yikes, couldn't happen at a worse time either. Oh the joys of owning a new home. I can sympathize. Hope they get your furnace fixed quickly.
