Thankful!

I am a very thankful wife today! Last night, our power went off around 3-3:30 AM. It was off for a few hours. My first thought was...the sump pump...because I could hear the rain coming down. Our sump pump runs all the time...seriously...ALL.THE.TIME!! It would take no time at all for our basement to flood if it was actually raining outside and the sump pump stopped. So, I said to Wayne "shouldn't you go check the sump pump?" Lucky for us, he had just installed a back up sump pump last month. It had been on our "to do" list since moving last year. We just never got it done until recently. So, we were saved. The backup worked exactly like it was supposed to work and we were spared a huge mess! Thanks Wayne!!!

When I got up at 6:30 this morning, the power was back on, but the cable was still out. We have cable everything, so that meant no Internet, no TV and no phone. I had to use my blackberry to see who was kicked off Idol last night because that is always the first thing I watch on Thursday mornings.

I got the kids off to school and then headed to Walmart when Isaac woke up. Connor was able to return to school today, so I was glad for that.

Wayne is working late tonight, so I declared it a "movie night" for the kids. They are all watching Wall E and I'm trying to get some work done around the house.
