We say the same prayer every night before dinner. It's kinda generic, but the beginning of it is the one we said when I was growing up and Connor and Lindsey learned the second part when they were in Preschool in NC. It goes like this:
God is great, God is good
Let us thank Him for our food.
By His hands we shall be fed.
Give us Lord our daily bread.
Amen
We typically just recite that as a family and eat. Occasionally, when we have a prayer concern, we will add something on to the end. So, when Lindsey was sick, we were adding at the end that we pray for Lindsey that she will be healthy soon. After a few days of us praying that, it went something like this:
Prayer....and Lord, we pray for Lindsey that she would be feeling better soon. Then Isaac added "so we can play with Nick."
Nick is our neighbor and his mommy just had a new baby and was still pregnant when Lindsey was sick with the flu, so we needed to stay away from their family until we were all healthy. So, I guess Isaac was really missing Nick.
Today Isaac had a complete meltdown and decided he wanted to play with tools and a workshop. We do not have a workshop right now, so we told him maybe he could get one for Christmas. We about died when at the end of our prayer Isaac said "and Lord, please can Santa bring me a workshop for Christmas."
Okay....I'm outta here...time to watch the Ohio State Game. Go Buckeyes!
